6th of April 2026 - A walk in my Ponje (Panaji, Goa)

Today is the 6th of April 2026 and I decided I will take a walk in the city.  On my request my brother dropped me off near the Horse Shoe Restaurant.  From there I walked to my regular barbearia for a haircut.  There was one guy ahead of me so I waited.  When it was my turn, I asked him to give a trim down on my thinned out hair and a shave too.  All the while we were chatting.  That's the beauty of our old barber shops.

I had some work at the Govinda building and then near the Santinez circle. I decided to use this opportunity to explore a bit of my Ponje and walk.  I had planned it and had my camera with me.

So off along the Corte de Oiteiro I walked and clicked these pictures.  Some nostalgia and some anticipation.

Ponje is as beautiful as it has always been.  The road leading to altinho is in the last two pictures.  The houses along this climb have been photographed many many times and are seen in so many posts on the net.  I decided to walk along the Garcia de Orte or the Municipal Garden.  And then there is the heritage building that houses the famous Casa J D Fernandes.  I turned left around that building and went ahead towards the Azad Maidan.  Many photo opportunities along the way.
